Module 2

Prefrontal Scaffolding & The 25-Minute Monotask Sprint

Pages 5–9

Lower prefrontal activation resistance using 2-minute somatic warmup rituals, monotasking timer sprints, and structured distraction parking pads.

Key Exercises Included:
  • The Micro-Task Slicing Protocol (Converting 'Study Chemistry' into 1 observable action)
  • The 2-Minute Somatic Startup Sequence (Water, desk clearance, physical timer)
  • The Live 25-Minute Monotask Sprint Sheet with Distraction Parking Pad
  • Post-Sprint Friction Diagnostic (Logging internal vs. external interruptions without self-blame)
Included Standalone Sheet:adhd focus plan
Module 3

Syllabus Deconstruction & Macro-to-Micro Chunking

Pages 10–13

Neutralize syllabus overwhelm and time blindness by decomposing multi-chapter requirements into 30-minute observable milestones.

Key Exercises Included:
  • The Big-Monster Syllabus Deconstructor (Breaking 10-chapter units into 30-min units)
  • The 3-Milestone Execution Ladder (Immediate, Midway, Completion checkpoints)
  • The Visual 'Done' Dopamine Wall (Concrete physical markers of completed work)
  • Parent-Student Weekly Milestone Check-in Framework
Included Standalone Sheet:task chunking canvas
Module 4

Somatic Down-Regulation & High-Stakes Exam Panic Reset

Pages 14–18

Equip adolescents with autonomic resets (physiological sighs) and CBT cognitive restructuring to prevent exam blanking and panic-induced procrastination.

Key Exercises Included:
  • The Somatic Vagal Reset (Double Inhale Physiological Sighs to down-regulate amygdala)
  • Catastrophic Thought Reality-Testing Grid (Testing 'I will blank out' against evidence)
  • The 180-Second Exam Hall Emergency Reset Script
  • The 14-Day Maintenance Protocol & Family Celebration Ceremony
Included Standalone Sheet:exam panic reset

ADHD Daily Focus & Reset Planner

Estimate task duration, chunk steps, and protect study blocks from dopamine traps.

Participant Name:
Date:2 Nov 2026
Target: 15 min
Clinical Instructions

A structured 1-page visual planner designed specifically for the ADHD brain. Instead of open-ended to-do lists that cause executive paralysis, it anchors your attention into 25-minute focus sprints with concrete startup rituals. One line per step in your own words. Short, honest answers are easier to trust — there is no wrong answer to a personal reflection, only a true one.

Executive Function Scaffolding Pipeline

Step 1
Micro-Task
Shrink task to ≤10 minutes
Step 2
2-Min Ritual

Step 3

Single tab, phone out of sight
Step 4

Log win, check off milestone
1Single Micro-Task for This Session

Never write 'Physics revision'. Write 'Solve 3 numericals from Chapter 4'. Small, observable actions trigger lower resistance.

Practitioner Hint: If you cannot complete it in 30 minutes, it is still too big. Slice it in half.
2My Warmup Ritual Checkpoints

Clear the desk of all subjects except this one. Put phone in another room. Fill a glass of water.

Practitioner Hint: Do not wait for motivation. Action creates motivation.
3Distraction Pad (Thoughts to park for later)

Set a physical timer. Do only this micro-task. If a distracting thought pops up, park it on a 'Distraction Pad' and continue immediately.

Practitioner Hint: When the timer rings, stand up immediately. Do not keep scrolling.
4Friction Diagnostic & Reward

Track when focus slipped without judging yourself. Notice if distraction was internal (daydreaming) or external (phone notification).

Practitioner Hint: Notice friction without self-blame. Friction is diagnostic data, not moral failure.

Clinical Foundations & Neurodevelopmental Science

Why traditional productivity systems cause executive paralysis in the neurodivergent brain.

The Prefrontal Working Memory Deficit

The adolescent ADHD brain demonstrates an estimated 30% developmental delay in prefrontal executive control networks relative to chronological age. Traditional to-do lists expect the adolescent to rely on internal working memory and intrinsic dopamine that is physiologically unavailable. This workbook externalizes these functions onto tangible paper schemas, allowing the student to execute without cognitive overload.

Rooted in Russell Barkley's Extended Phenotype Model of Executive Functioning, CBT Behavioral Activation, and Stephen Porges' Polyvagal Theory.
Why Traditional Planners & To-Do Lists Fail

Standard planners rely on open-ended task descriptions ('Study Physics for 2 hours') which trigger severe cognitive friction. Without a visible startup sequence or emotional de-escalation protocol, the neurodivergent nervous system interprets open-ended work as an overwhelming threat, defaulting to dopamine-rich digital escapism or paralysis.

Solution: External prefrontal scaffolding with physical time limits.
Indian Academic & Board Exam Context: Specifically engineered for Indian academic environments where dense multi-subject syllabi, heavy coaching schedules, and parental expectations frequently combine to trigger autonomic shutdown in neurodivergent adolescents.

Parent & Educator Supervision Guide

How adults can support task initiation without micromanagement or screaming matches.

Your Core Posture: Act as an external prefrontal co-regulator, not a punitive taskmaster. Your posture determines whether the student's nervous system stays in calm engagement or enters defensive shutdown.
4 Actionable Supervision Principles:
Celebrate task initiation and startup consistency rather than obsessing over test scores alone.
Facilitate the 2-minute warmup collaboratively at the desk rather than shouting instructions from across the house.
Respect the distraction pad as vital diagnostic data, never as proof of laziness or disrespect.
Maintain device-free sanctuaries (such as dining table and bedtime docks) together as an entire household.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about implementing the 14-day adolescent executive protocol.

How is this 18-page workbook different from the 1-page ADHD daily planner?

While the 1-page ADHD Focus Plan is an acute daily sprint tool, this 18-page workbook is a comprehensive 14-day psychoeducational intervention. It covers dopamine baseline management, syllabus decomposition, exam panic protocols, and parent-teen agreements into a structured curriculum.

Can teenagers complete this workbook independently or does a parent need to supervise?

Students aged 15+ can complete the daily exercises independently. However, Module 1 (environmental friction audit) and Module 3 (weekly milestones) are significantly more effective when reviewed in a brief 10-minute collaborative weekend check-in with a parent or mentor.

Is this workbook helpful for non-ADHD students struggling with procrastination?

Yes. While designed with clinical sensitivity for the ADHD nervous system, the executive functioning scaffolds (micro-task chunking, dopamine menus, physiological sighs) benefit any student overwhelmed by board exams, tuition pressures, or smartphone distractions.

Can clinical practitioners and school counsellors use this workbook with clients?

Absolutely. RishiCoaches releases these clinical protocols under an open educational license for individual student use, therapy homework, and school counselling intervention sessions.
