Your Emotions Aren't the Problem — Not Understanding Them Is
An emotional intelligence program for teens (13-19) who feel confused by their own feelings — and the caregivers who want to help them make sense of their inner world.
Your teen is not 'too emotional.' They're untrained.
A teen who explodes over a small comment. A teen who shuts down for hours and can't explain why. A teen who says "I'm fine" when clearly they're not.
This isn't manipulation. It's illiteracy. They don't have the vocabulary or the framework to understand what's happening inside them.
Most adults don't either — but they've had decades to figure it out. A 14-year-old hasn't.
Know Your Emotions teaches your teen to name what they feel, see the patterns behind their reactions, and respond to emotions instead of being controlled by them.
"My son used to say 'I don't know why I'm angry.' After the program, he said 'I think I'm not angry — I'm disappointed. The match got cancelled.' That distinction changed everything." — Parent
"I used to think I was just a moody person. Now I know I get irritable when I haven't eaten or slept well. Most of my 'bad moods' have a pattern and I can see it coming." — Teen, age 17

Meet Rohan
Rohan, 16 · Pune, 11th standard. Gets 'irritable' before exams. Yells at his mother. Feels guilty afterward. Repeats the cycle.
"I don't know why I get so angry before exams. I snap at everyone and then I feel terrible. My mother says I have anger issues but that's not it — I'm not angry, I'm... I don't even know what I am. Scared? Pressured? Both? I can't tell the difference anymore."
"Now I know: the anger was fear wearing a disguise. I was scared of failing, scared of disappointing my parents. When I name it as fear instead of anger, everything changes. I can talk about it instead of slamming doors. My mom and I actually had a conversation about exam pressure without fighting."

The Struggles We've Designed For
Every program has predictable sticking points. We've built responses for each one — so when you hit them, you're not stuck. You're exactly where you're supposed to be.
"I can say I'm angry or sad but I don't feel the need to get more specific. What's the point?"
Our response:
Specificity is power. 'Angry' could mean frustrated, betrayed, disrespected, or powerless. Each one needs a completely different response. Knowing the difference between 'I'm frustrated' and 'I feel betrayed' is the difference between guessing and actually solving the problem.
"Seeing my patterns is depressing. I feel like I'm just a collection of bad reactions."
Our response:
You're not your patterns — you're the one noticing them. The fact that you can see the pattern means you're already outside it. A fish doesn't know it's in water. You just got your head above the surface. That's not depressing — that's the beginning of freedom.
"I tried to pause before reacting but I still exploded. The pause didn't work."
Our response:
The pause isn't magic — it's a muscle. The first time you try it, you might get 0.5 seconds before the explosion. Next time, maybe 1 second. Each micro-pause weakens the automatic response. Keep going. The first time you get a 3-second pause, you'll feel the difference.
